The genealogical information at the links to Doyle and Marlyce Chastain's sites are free to use for non-commercial purposes without permission. The policy of the other genealogical links is set by the authors and not by me. If you need information from them (as I have at times) it is there for the asking. Copyright at these sites is determined by the people who administer them, not by me. Each link will take you to the appropriate domain and you will be able to contact that person to address your needs. If interested, I have listed some great Genealogy Links. The Veracity of the Genealogical Information The information contained in the various sites are the sole responsibility of the persons who placed them there. As with all genealogy, you should always check the source yourself. Often, we are forced to analyze evidence and draw conclusions from them. One person may be convinced there is enough evidence to make a claim where the evidence would not pass the threshold test for another.

If there are questions about claims, I strongly recommend that you contact the person involved and ask for his or her sources, find and review the actual source, and draw your own conclusions. If you disagree, or reach another conclusion, it would be courteous if you advise the individual of your conclusion and reasoning. This policy leads to stimulating research and can end in some great finds. This policy has been very successful for the people I have been working with. I have interacted with the people listed below and can tell you that they seem to be very cautious (in general) about making claims. Lastly, be sure to thank any people who aid you in your research. It may not be much, but it's likely you will need help again (possibly from the same source) and it will likely come quicker if you let them know that you appreciated it. This site offers researchers a source of information on the various branches which have led to the core of the Chastain Family of California. In putting the site together and linking pages, I must thank the persons who have helped collect, sort, evaluate and analzye this information. Specifically, Sheila Chastain, who helped at all phases of my Chastain research, especially while trying to connect William Newton to John Withrow. Geraldine "Gerre" Buland, the genealogist for the Pierre Chastain Family Association was also very helpful.
